Dr Richards is no longer consulting patients. As she is the owner of Metceni Health she will continue to be involved in the administration of the center and continue to create and maintain processes that allow for improved patient care, a happy workplace and a productive one. She would like to say thankyou to all her previous patients and hopes they continue to see the other skilled and caring doctors at Metceni Health.

 The appointment system is structured to provide the best chance for patients to see their doctor when they need to be seen. A percentage of appointments are kept free such that they may only be booked on the day. This enables patients who are acutely ill to be seen promptly. Our on line appointments are generally available one to two weeks in advance, However this will be expanded once we have our new computer system in place. 

For appointments with all Doctors, if you have more than one significant issue to deal with please check with reception if you should book a long appointment so that you are less likely to be asked to come back on another day to finish the consultation. Standard appointments are  15 minutes and some doctors work at a different rate. We are happy to book double appointments as needed and the charge applies to the time used not booked. The Doctor may also have issues he/she needs to discuss with you of which you had not planned. 

The phone lines are switched from the answering machine at 8:15 am. There is an immediate message on our system prior to the reception answering. 

Emergency/ Urgent Appointments /After Hours Appointments

Dial 000 or go to Peel health Campus for emergency /urgent treatment for concerns such as severe chest pain, shortness of breath bleeding etc

If a patient with no appointment has a medical condition such that they believe they need to be seen on that day, or they are less than one year of age, please inform reception and you will be asked to come in for the practice nurse to assess your condition and either arrange an appointment on another day or fit you in with an available doctor on that day. You will not be guaranteed your regular doctor as it is an emergency appointment.

For out of hours GP appointments you can find local practices with late hours via the HealthEngine website or contact an after hours home visit service. These services are only designed for urgent issues not those that can wait until the next day. They include Dial A Doctor, and  After Hours Gp

Prolonged appointments 

Provision has been made for special appointments such as skin lesion removals and counselling. If you require an extended appointment, please inform the receptionist of your needs when booking an appointment.

New patients  or patients returning after time at another surgery

We are very happy to take new patients, but would request that if possible you pick up forms from the practice prior to your visit or down load them in the links following. These can be filled out at home prior to your appointment and then brought with you. It may also be appropriate to request notes from your previous practice however these may take a couple of weeks to arrive.Transfer of records, Patient summary, New patient registration 

 If patients have been away from the practice for a few years it may be useful to list what has been happening to you in those years and where you had any blood tests or other investigations.
